Be it a charter or a Join-a-group everything is catered for. We take along a maximum of 12 good people at a time, who can move into 5 cabins with ensuite bathrooms whilst M.V. Flightless is home.
All meals and hot drinks are supplied and we're happy to cater to any dietary requirements. We supply a variety of fishing rods and tackle, wetsuits, fins, masks, snorkels, gloves, booties, weight belts, cylinders, BCDs, kayaks, paddle boards, yoga mats, bedding, beanbags, floats and floatlines, sodastream machine, a commercial ice maker and we even share our sunscreen...  So the only things to bring are some clothes (we do have a washing machine and dryer on board), any treats or alcohol you may want to indulge in and of course a sense of adventure.

Below is a bit of an idea of all the things we got covered for you...

What to Bring

Getting from your home to ours

M.V. Flightless is based in the coastal waters of Fiordland and Stewart Island beyond the Southern Alps of New Zealand. But in order to start your adventure you’ll have to get there first.

"There" depends on your adventure but generally starts by arriving in Queenstown to then head either to Te Anau or Manapouri. So jump onto Air New Zealand site and get your tickets to fly...  Note Queenstown airport can be effected by strong winds and low cloud making it a bit tight to have any connecting flights on the same day..

Due to our remote location we advise anyone coming along to spend the night prior and following our adventure in either Te Anau or Manapouri as otherwise you might quite literally  'miss the boat'. Hiring vehicles and driving from Queenstown seems to be the way most of our clients go if they are flying down. If you choose to do so as well you are welcome to leave vehicles at the hanger while you are in Fiordland which is perfectly safe and free of charge. Other options for transport are jumping on a scheduled service from Queenstown (Tracknet) or chartering a van and driver (Tracknet, Trips and Tramps).

If you're off on one of our rare Stewart Island adventures you'll be meeting Flightless in Oban. You can either fly across the straights or jump onto a RealNZ ferry. Simply touch base if you'd like a hand with the organising.

In general all clients fly into Fiordland by helicopter to maximise their playtime and we'll organise that for you as we have a little practise and can secure good rates.

In Oban we'll either pick you up from the town wharf or fly you to wherever Flightless is playing depending on the adventure.
